Important Notice

You MUST click CANCEL if you see the following popup during setup

Modles found that are compatible with MobiFlight. Upload MobiFlight Firmware now?

More Information

You may be prompted to upload MobiFlight Firmware to devices with a compatible chip.

This chip is present in a wide range of equipment, from Flight Simulator periphals to 3D printers.

Not all users will receive the popup, but those who do must follow this instruction.

The firmware upload replaces the firmware that shipped with the device, rendering it inoperable.

Therefore, you MUST click CANCEL.

When asked to disable this feature altogether. click OK.

Do you want to disable the automatic upload to new modules?

You can check whether this feature is active on the MobiFlight Modules menu. Ensure the box shown below is unticked.

Setup Video

This video has been temporarily removed while we update it for MobiFlight 11.

You may still view it here.

In the meantime, the written checklists will get you up and running.

Checklist 1 - Installation

MSFS refers to both FS2020 and FS2024

  • Click here to download MobiFlight 11
  • Complete the installation
    • You may check "Create Desktop Shortcut" to add it to your desktop
    • MobiFlight appears on your Start Menu as "MobiFlight Connector"
  • Run MobiFlight Connector
  • It's OK to accept updates.
    • Caution the specific firmware update mentioned above
  • MSFS pilots: When prompted, install MobiFlight WASM Module
  • MSFS PMDG 737 pilots: install FSUIPC version 7 (free)
  • FSX / P3D pilots: install the relevant FSUIPC version (free)

Checklist 2 - Hardware Connection

  • Plug in your new hardware
    • Use the ports built into your PC, or a USB hub with a separate power supply
    • Unpowered USB hubs do not provide a sufficiently stable voltage

Verify connection to your hardware

  • Look at the bottom of the Mobiflight window
  • Beside Connected devices, click the small arrow
  • Verify that your hardware is visible in the Modules sub-menu
    • Your hardware appears as CXL Autopilot or CXL Radio

  • If you don't see your device, reconnect the USB.
    • Plug it into the back of your PC, instead of front / top connectors
    • If you're using a USB hub, it must have a separate power input. Unpowered hubs don't provide a stable voltage

Checklist 3 - Aircraft Profile

An Aircraft Profile is a small file which contains the instructions for each button, knob and display on your hardware.

Each simulator has a "Default" profile which works well with the stock aircraft and many addons, particularly General Aviation

Aircraft Profiles are also available for specific aircraft, offering improved functionality

  • Run Flight Simulator and load into your chosen aircraft
  • Download the relevant Aircraft Profile from the Aircraft Profiles page
    • If you have more than one MobiFlight device, e.g. Autopilot and Radio Stack, just choose one of them for now.
We will add the second device later.

  • In MobiFlight, open the downloaded Aircraft Profile using the File -> Open menu:

  • Locate the file and click Open

Enter the profile by clicking the > button

Now you can see all the functions of the Aircraft Profile:

Our Aircraft Profiles are designed to get you up and running straight away without any extra work

If you do wish to customise how your hardware works with a particular aircraft, feel free to modify any of the configurations shown here

Our support page You Have Control will help get you started

Checklist Complete!

Run the Aircraft Profile

  • Click the Run button
  • At this point your displays will light up and the device is functional

  • If you purchased the Circuit Avionics Radio Stack, push system selector 1 at the top of the device to activate the displays

Friendly and Available Support

Blank displays? Something doesn't look right?

Don't panic. We understand that for many of our pilots, it's your first time using MobiFlight, and for many more, your first time using this kind of hardware. We offer a friendly support service which can get you on your feet.

As a first step, please scroll up and re-check that you've gone through the checklists correctly.

A small percentage of pilots have reported that they had to restart their computer the first time they used the hardware.

There is a lot of documentation available, including Troubleshooting guides and Useful Information.

You may also contact us and we will be happy to help!

Verify connection to Flight Simulator

  • Look at the bottom of the Mobiflight window
  • Beside Sim Status, click the small arrow
  • You should see the name of your flight simulator with a green tick
  • MSFS users need the WASM to be showing green
    • If the WASM isn't showing green, use the menu option Extras -> Microsoft Flight Simulator -> Install WASM Module
In this case, a simulator and MobiFlight restart will be required
  • FSUIPC is required for FSX / P3D
  • FSUIPC is also required for PMDG 737 on MSFS
  • ProSim can be ignored

Have more than one MobiFlight Device?

If you have more than one MobiFlight device, e.g. Autopilot and Radio Stack, it's easy to run them both simultaneously through MobiFlight.

See Managing Multiple Devices for more information.

Ongoing Support and Community

There is a lot of documentation available, including Useful Information.

Support is a long-term project. MobiFlight is regularly updated, as is flight simulator, and there are always new aircraft to fly.

All pilots are encouraged to join the Circuit Avionics Discord and the MobiFlight Discord. When you make a profile, please share it with the community for the good of everyone.
