Advanced home-cockpit hardware for serious sim pilots.

Follow the setup checklists carefully to get connected for the first time.

Important Notice

You MUST click CANCEL if you see the following popup during setup

Modles found that are compatible with MobiFlight. Upload MobiFlight Firmware now?

More Information

You may be prompted to upload MobiFlight Firmware to devices with a compatible chip.

This chip is present in a wide range of equipment, from Flight Simulator periphals to 3D printers.

Not all users will receive the popup, but those who do must follow this instruction.

The firmware upload replaces the firmware that shipped with the device, rendering it inoperable.

Therefore, you MUST click CANCEL.

When asked to disable this feature altogether. click OK.

Do you want to disable the automatic upload to new modules?

You can check whether this feature is active on the MobiFlight Modules menu. Ensure the box shown below is unticked.

Checklist 1 - Installation

  • Click here to download, then run the MobiFlight Installer
  • Run MFConnector.exe, located in the installation folder. Make a handy shortcut!
  • It's OK to accept updates.
    • Caution the specific firmware update mentioned above.
  • MSFS (2020 / 2024) pilots: Install WASM Module using the menu at the top of the window: Extras  -> Microsoft Flight Simulator -> Install WASM Module
  • FS2024 pilots: The latest MobiFlight update is required. When prompted to update to the latest version, you should accept.
  • MSFS PMDG 737 pilots: install FSUIPC version 7 (free)
  • FSX / P3D pilots: install the relevant FSUIPC version (free)

Checklist 2 - Connection

  • Load up Flight Simulator
  • Plug in your new hardware
    • If you bought the Autopilot and Radio combi, leave the Radio unplugged for now
  • Don't use an unpowered USB hub
  • Unplug any other MobiFlight devices

Verify everything is communicating

  • Look at the bottom of the Mobiflight window:
  • Verify Module status is green
  • Verify Sim Status is green
    • WASM is required for MSFS (FS2020 / FS2024) pilots
    • The WASM will only be shown after completing Checklist 3, below
    • FSUIPC is required for FSX/P3D (also for for MSFS PMDG 737 pilots)
    • X-Plane is automatically detected without requiring add-ons
  • If Module isn't green, reconnect the USB.
    • Plug it into the back of your PC, instead of front / top connectors
    • Make sure you're not using an unpowered hub - these don't provide a stable voltage

  • If Sim Status isn't green, MSFS (2020 / 2024) users should reinstall the WASM module
    • (Extras -> Microsoft Flight Simulator -> Install WASM Module)
  • P3D/FSX require the correct version of FSUIPC
  • Restart MoabiFlight and the simulator

Checklist 3 - Aircraft Profile

An Aircraft Profile is a small file which contains the instructions for each button, knob and display on your hardware.

The first time you open the Aircraft Profile, you will be asked which piece of hardware it applies to. This is called "assigning". Until then, it's classed as 'orphaned'.

This simple step must be done correctly or your hardware won't function!

  • Download a relevant Aircraft Profile from the Aircraft Profiles page
  • Open the Aircraft Profile using the File menu in MobiFlight:

A popup appears. This is where you "assign" the orphaned profile to the serial number of your hardware:

To assign the profile (see numbered image above)

  1. Click the orphaned serial
  2. Select the relevant hardware device from the drop down list
  3. Click "Assign"
  4. Click OK
  • Click the Save button. You won't have to assign the profile any more:

Checklist Complete!

One last thing:

  • Click the Run button on MobiFlight

At this point your displays will light up. If you've got the Circuit Avionics Radio, push system selector 1 or 2.

Friendly and Available Support

Blank displays? Something doesn't look right?

Don't panic. We understand that for many of our pilots, it's your first time using MobiFlight, and for many more, your first time using this kind of hardware. We offer a friendly support service which can get you on your feet.

As a first step, please scroll up and re-check that you've gone through the checklists correctly.

Most first-time issues are caused by a mistake in assigning the Aircraft Profile. It can seem a little tricky if it's your first time. Just follow the steps, and watch that part of the video, to make sure you've nailed it. Remember, you only have to do it once, so make sure to do it right!

A small percentage of pilots have reported that they had to restart their computer the first time they used the hardware.

If you've got additional MobiFlight hardware, including that from Circuit Avionics, see Managing Multiple Devices for information on how to run these.

There is a lot of documentation available, including Useful Information.

Ongoing Support and Community

Support is a long-term project. MobiFlight is regularly updated, as is flight simulator, and there are always new aircraft to fly.

All pilots are encouraged to join the Circuit Avionics Discord and the MobiFlight Discord. When you make a profile, please share it with the community for the good of everyone.
