Aircraft Profiles for Autopilot

Profiles are user-moddable through the MobiFlight software

Collaborate and share your profiles on the Discord server

Profiles marked MSFS are compatible with both FS2020 and FS2024, where applicable

Function varies by aircraft and developer

Important

The MobiFlight setting Automatically perform Retrigger Action with Run Mode should be disabled when using this profile. Failure to do so causes unwanted commands when the profile is Run.

Pilot Notes

This profile interfaces with Microsoft and Lockheed Martin's default simulation variables in Flight Simulator X (FSX) and Prepar3D (P3D).

Limitations of FSX / P3D Default Autopilot System

In FSX and P3D, certain functions are not implemented as part of the simulator's built-in autopilot system.

  • VNAV and LVL CHG are unavailable.
  • Only one autopilot system is simulated, so F/D 2 and CMD B are unavailable.
  • Vertical Speed is implemented as part of Altitude Hold (ALT HLD). To set a desired rate of climb, select ALT HLD, dial the requested altitude, and adjust V/S.

NAV Source

Many aircraft lack a separate "LNAV" mode, using NAV instead, which follows a CDI (Course Deflection Indicator) slaved to a VOR or GPS receiver. The NAV Source is changed by VOR/GPS switch or a CDI button.

This profile configures both LNAV and VOR LOC buttons to activate NAV. The engaged mode depends on the NAV Source (GPS or NAV). The LNAV or VOR LOC button will illuminate accordingly.

Course 2

COURSE 2 is set as follows:

  • Push COURSE knob. Display dims. COURSE 2 is displayed.
  • Dial in desired course using the knob.
  • Push COURSE knob. COURSE 1 is displayed. Brightness returns to normal.

TOGA

TOGA is engaged with a LONG PUSH on N1 THR (0.5 seconds).

Standard Pressure

Push BARO knob for Standard Pressure.

Minimums (MINS)

This is not part of FSX / P3D and is not implemented. Add-on aircraft that implement MINS can be configured if the developer allows it.

EFIS Controls

For aircraft with G1000 avionics, the EFIS Map Range (zoom) can be adjusted by rotating the RANGE knob. FSX and P3D do not have controls to change the EFIS map mode.
