Profiles marked MSFS are compatible with both FS2020 and FS2024, where applicable

See You Have Control for info on modding aircraft profiles.

This Default Profile can be used by the majority of aircraft, including add-ons.

It interfaces with Microsoft’s default simulation variables.

Supported avionics include (but are not limited to):

  • Steam Gauges
  • Garmin G1000
  • G3000
  • G3X
  • G3X Touch
  • GNS430 / GNS530

If something doesn’t work, this is because your aircraft has custom programming, using a nonstandard variable. For these aircraft, the profile can be modded as desired.

Changelog

2025-08-17 v4

  • Baro knob now increments one unit of HPA per notch when toggle switch is HPA.
  • FS2024: Added compatibility with G3X (AS3X) range controls, both for button and knob.

2025-01-28 v3

  • F/D 2 switch now sets the parking brake. The LED illuminates when the parking brake is set.
    • This function is enabled by default but can easily be disabled in MobiFlight.

2024-09-19 v2

  • Reversed GNS430 / GNS530 / G3000 range controls to match the panel engraving.
  • G3000: Pushing RANGE knob now puts the controls into MFD mode, which is required for RANGE knob operation.
  • Added EFIS controls for G3X Touch.

Pilot Notes

NAV Source

Many aircraft lack a separate “LNAV”, and instead have a NAV mode which follows a CDI (course deflection indicator). The CDI is slaved to either a VOR or GPS receiver. The NAV Source is changed by the VOR/GPS switch or CDI button.

This profile is configured so both LNAV and VOR LOC buttons perform the same action — to activate NAV. Which mode engages (LNAV or VOR LOC) depends on the “GPS DRIVES NAV1” variable. The LNAV or VOR LOC button will illuminate.

Likewise, most of these aircraft lack a true VNAV, instead having an advisory VNAV or none at all. VNAV is implemented where available.

EFIS Map Controls

The EFIS controls are set up to work with the most common onboard avionics. You can see which avionics package your aircraft uses here.

  • G1000
    • Mode buttons rotate the ‘upper’ MFD FMS knob (short press) and ‘lower’ MFD FMS knob (long press).
    • The first ‘notch’ opens the menu, subsequent inputs change the mode.
    • Range knob PUSH pushes the MFD FMS knob.
  • GNS430 / GNS530: as above, for the lower right knob.
    • Note: For aircraft with both units equipped, you may wish to untick one of them in MobiFlight so only one is controlled.
  • G3000 (TBM930): The Range knob works when the MFD control panel is in MFD mode — push the RANGE knob to select MFD mode.

  • G3X Touch: Use the “Split” button to show the map; the EFIS Mode and Range controls then become active.

COURSE 2 is set as follows:

  • Push COURSE knob — display dims, COURSE 2 is displayed.
  • Dial desired course using the knob.
  • Push COURSE knob — COURSE 1 is displayed, brightness returns to normal.

Parking Brake is tied to the F/D 2 switch and LED. Since MSFS lacks an F/D 2 by default, these controls were otherwise unused.

  • If this behaviour is not desired, simply deselect the F/D 2 controls in MobiFlight.
