The MobiFlight setting Automatically perform Retrigger Action with Run Mode should be disabled when using this profile. Failure to do so causes unwanted commands when the profile is Run.
Concorde is quite unlike any other aircraft. We highly recommend a full read-through of the DC Designs documentation, located in your installation folder.
Certain autopilot functions are implemented differently by DC Designs compared to the real aircraft. This profile is written with that in mind.
Both implemented, note that only one AP is modelled within the simulation, controlled by either lever.
This button is linked to the IAS HOLD vertical mode on the aircraft. The mode tries to hold the current IAS by altering the aircraft's pitch. On the DC Designs Concorde, it works best with the autothrottle disengaged.
Approaching the target altitude, switch to V/S and engage the Autothrottle in IAS ACQ, if desired. This will keep you on the correct profile and airspeed.
Note that the IAS display is dimmed when this mode is engaged, and a different number is shown than the IAS display on the Concorde's autopilot panel. This is because IAS HOLD uses a different airspeed than the one shown for the autothrottle modes. This IAS can be adjusted using the IAS knob, but should be done slowly to avoid sudden pitch changes.
Pushing HDG SEL will engage the TRK HDG mode on Concorde, which steers toward the heading. We have not implemented Concorde's HDG HOLD however pushing the HDG knob on your autopilot will sync the heading to the aircraft's current heading, producing the same result.
A long push (0.5 seconds) of the LVL CHG button will engage the aircraft in MAX CLIMB. This is typically done once the aircraft has reached the acceleration point and the aircraft is already in the early stages of the climb with the afterburners engaged.
In MAX CLIMB mode, the button blinks every 2 seconds. This is easily moddable, and is designed to differentiate from the normal function of the LVL CHG button on this profile, which is the IAS HOLD vertical mode.
At cruise level, the mode automatically changes to MAX CRUISE and the light stops blinking. The Autothrottle should be engaged during both modes to avoid overspeed.
The autothrottle toggle must be on for these to function.
SPEED is linked to ALT ACQ, which is the mode commonly used to hold or acquire an airspeed in level flight or V/S mode.
N1 THR lights when IAS HOLD or MACH HOLD is engaged. This relates to the autothrottle modes, not the vertical mode.
Concorde lacks a Barometric minimums mode, so the position of the toggle switch does not matter. Rotating the knob will adjust the radar altimeter orange bug.
In case you get the bug where the autopilot fails to respond to the Vertical modes, select ALT HOLD then reselect the mode you desire. Switching off CMD A and CMD B as well as the flight directors may also assist in a reset.
