NEWLY COMPATIBLE: Synaptic Simulations A220

Synaptic Simulations A220

We are pleased to announce compatibility with the Synaptic Simulations Airbus A220.

The A220 is a modern, clean-sheet airliner designed to combine the efficiency and flexibility of a smaller aircraft with the range and capability of a much larger jet. Its advanced fly-by-wire flight deck, distinctive handling and Pratt & Whitney geared turbofan engines make it something genuinely different to fly.

And, of course, there is the unmistakable "whale howl" from those PW1500G engines.

Synaptic Simulations have produced a beautiful representation of the A220, with deep systems and avionics implementation, a faithfully recreated flight deck and plenty to explore for pilots who enjoy learning a modern airliner properly.

The aircraft is still receiving release updates and patches. We will continue revisiting our profiles as the aircraft develops, with the aim of adding further functionality whenever additional controls become available to hardware developers.

For Universal Autopilot

We have created a dedicated A220 profile for the Circuit Avionics Universal Autopilot, integrating the aircraft's distinctive flight control logic into the hardware wherever the simulator currently allows.

The profile includes BARO control, FMS and manual airspeed selection, TOGA operation, selectable 100 / 1000 ft altitude increments, Flight Director control, NAV operation and other aircraft-specific functions.

Some aircraft states are not currently exposed to external hardware, so we have implemented practical solutions wherever possible and documented the remaining limitations in the Pilot Notes.

For Radio Stack

A dedicated A220 profile is also available for the Circuit Avionics Radio Stack, providing integration with the aircraft's COM and NAV systems.

TCAS control is not currently made available to hardware developers by the aircraft. We hope this will be addressed in a future update, allowing us to expand the integration further.
